I cannot remember a time when I did not draw, but I do remember when color entered my artwork. During dental school, the academic illustrator introduced me to color theory and the mixing of oils, my medium for a few years.
However, a hiatus lasted for twenty years before a friend painting in the interesting watercolor medium invited me to a class in 1992. The first art lesson that indelibly impressed me was "there are 100 bad paintings in your brushes and you have to get them out (Donna Mack)". Still life leads to landscape, leads to portraiture, my latest interest. People are so expressive and their gestures tell stories, even if it is a different story to each of us. I do know that my desire to paint never ends.
