Paula Anderson
Anacortes WA
My art is a lifetime effort. It started seriously in the 1970's in La Conner. My friend Guy Anderson (no relation) heavily influenced me as well as other artists there. I have shown at Cafe' Culture, The Depot, The Star Bar, Il Posto, and have work on the East coast in professional buildings and private homes. One of my pieces was selected last year by Dan Bonow, a song writer, for his new CD cover in Kilauea, Hawaii. I have a Toulouse Lautrec style painting, DOING THE BOLERO IN "CHILPERIC" at the Edison Eye. Another in a private residence in La Conner titled "the Moulin Rouge".
I paint from an organic approach. I am spontaneous and true to abstract perspective. My subjects are wide and full of surprise and change. Acrylic allows me the immediacy of my paintings. My use of color stretches the notion of imagination.
