Steven Fairchild
Olympia WA
Steven Fairchild has had a passion for drawing since he was very young, but as he puts it, "life's responsibilities often interfered". However in the late 1990s he left his career to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in Papua, New Guinea. Upon returning to Washington state he found that his old way of life no longer held any appeal for him.
At that point Steven went back to drawing and photography, the things that he had loved for so long. He is self taught in both disciplines, "photographing anything and everything, while my colored pencil drawing is primarily of the human figure, focusing on traditional ethnic themes, dance, and the nude." |
