Cheryl King
Shoreline WA

Cheryl (Baughn) King, is a fourth generation Puget Sounder, was born with a passion for art and throughout her younger years pursued a myriad of creative goals, always knowing that art was her future. Forced to put her dreams on hold for several years Cheryl was introduced to oils by Stuart Moldrem in 1988 and she was immediately hooked. Later she studied under Julann Campbell, a protege of Sergei Bongart, laerning the nuances of Russian impressionism. These roots show today, she paints with vibrant colors and bold brushwork.

As a working artist, Cheryl devotes a major portion of each week either in her studio, outdoors or painting with a core group of fellow artists that have supported each other for the past several years. She is a dynamic and fun loving 'people' person and she strives to have these qualities show in the paintings she creates. Oil painting is her passion, obsession and addiction that she tells us .. "I have has no intention of getting therapy for it!"

Her work has appeared in many juried art shows in Washington and in such distant locations as: Wichita, Kansas; Graham, Texas and she received an 'Honorable Mention' from her showing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is a member of the 'Oil Painters of America'.
