Thu Nguyen earned her A.A. in painting from Los Angeles Valley College in 1990 and went on to receive a B.F.A. in painting from California State University - Long Beach,CA. in 1993.
Her first exhibition was 'A New Generation: Contemporary Vietnamese American Art' at California State University Fullerton's main gallery, that was in 1994. Now, after twelve years Thu's work has been seen and appreciated not only across the United States but also in Toronto and Quebec in Canada and in Germany's capital, Berlin. She has shown in numerous one-man shows, juried exhibitions and "too many shows to count" and has earned numberous awards.
In addition to her painting abilities, Thu has also filled the role of Guest Lecturer at a number of events and has received grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in Montreal, Canada and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York. Her work hangs in over fifty 'Private Collections' from Washinton to Washington DC, from California to Maryland and Hawaii to New Jersey. The Public Collections that own and exhibit her paintings include companies in Florida, California and Vietnam.
