Alan Patrick
Albany IN
"When I was very young I studied painting with Roland Osborne, one of the last members of the 'Richmond Group'. He had a wonderful cavernous studio with enormous windows and stacks of paintings all around. It smelled of canvas and turpentine. All very exotic. From then on, all I wanted was to be an artist. When I was older I went to art school and discovered artists as diverse as Degas, Wyeth and Hokusai. My work may appear realistic, but at heart I'm a formalist."
Alan was born in Richmond, Indiana in 1942. He obtained his B.S. in 1964 and his M.A. in Art in 1966 from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. His works have appeared in both numerous Selected Group Exhibitions andSelected Solo Exhibitions at which he has received a number of 'Best of Show' awards. His art hangs in many impressive collections and his name appears in the 'Who's Who of American Art' and 'Artists in Indiana, Then and Now'. He owns and operates from 'The Patrick Gallery' in Albany, Indiana.
