J. L. Roberts
Carnation WA
J.L. Roberts is a 1977 graduate of the fine arts program of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she majored in drawing and painting.
In the mid-eighties, Jo settled in the Pacific Northwest, and from her home in the woods began to focus her art more exclusively on the human form and her love of the natural world.
Her block prints are simple, elegant explorations of the human form, relationships with one another, and relationship with nature.
In her paintings, she explores more complex human experiences of inner awakening with an eye on mythical fantasy and the surreal.
She has exhibited in shows around the Pacific NW since 1997.
