Ken Smith
Lynnwood WA
Ken attended the University of Washington from 1961 to 1965, receiving a BA in Business. During those years, he took undergraduate art courses as time permitted. In 1973, Ken went back to UW, receiving a BFA in Painting in 1975. Retiring from his day job in 2001, he has focused on his art, occasionally exhibiting in the Puget Sound area as well as managing ArtWorks, a small arts center in Edmonds, Washington.
The artist states "The desire to draw, to paint - to engage in the visual creative process isn't a hurrah kind of thing, but simply a part of daily life. Drawing from the live model is always a challenge - improving my overall craft, and keeping me grounded in evaluating my skills and abilities over time." |
