| Jo Anderson Anacortes WA I was born in Utah in 1947 and after residing in Los Angeles and San Francisco areas - then moved to Oregon. In 1972 I moved to Seattle, WA. I currently live and have a studio on Orcas Island as well as a studio in Anacortes where I teach drawing. Occupation with making images has been life long. Upon graduation from high school the desire to paint was very strong. It took twenty-three years from that point to establish for myself the validity of and the responsibility to this commitment. I am grateful to those who now support the choice and respect the time and discipline that it requires. The paintings are the expression of my personal inner and outer exploration. My focus is on presence and definition as created by light on form. I hope to offer a view as seen from my perspective both literally and metaphorically. |
