Linda Demetre
Medina WA
Linda is on a lifelong journey to capture in her paintings, the emotions of everyday scenes. Whether it be glimpses of couples dancing or while deep in conversation, mothers with children, loving masters with their pets, women in isolated surroundings , she catches the mood. She tells a story and then leaves it up to the viewer to interpret the nuances.
Linda's paintings are impressionistic in style and impacted with rich color. Her medium is oil bars, applied without brush and used in combination with the traditional use of oils. She has an art degree from the University of Montana, with a minor in art history.
Her artwork is in over 300 homes and corporations. Among her many awards, Linda received the Juror's Award for the Building Wise exhibit at the Tacoma Art Museum. She exhibits at the Seattle Art Museum Sales Gallery and Brennanis Fine Art in Palm Desert California, El Prado Galleries in Sedona Arizona, and History of the World Gallery on Camano Island. Linda teaches at Daniel Smith Art Stores in Seattle and in her own studio in Bellevue. |
