Lyle Jamieson
Traverse City MI
Lyle's artwork has been exhibited in museums and shows across the country, including the University of Michigan Museum of Art, the Brigham Young University Museum of Art, the Neuberger Museum of Art, the Sculpture in the Park show in Loveland, CO. His involvement in wood turning began at an early age when he was mentored by his father, a pattern maker from Detroit.
In addition to sculpting, Lyle instructs others in turned objects. Regarding his artwork, Lyle says, "From striking subject areas to spaces devoid of form, my sculpture clearly fills the viewer with the flowing movement of life. My goal is to have my work transcend the larger narrative of culture, gender, politics, and creative production. I believe that my sculptures may well be perceived as a statement about life, but also an expression of life." |
