Irina Milton
Mukilteo WA
Growing up in Ukraine Irina Kirienko, as a little child, could spend hours and hours drawing or painting on a big roll of paper unrolled all around the floor of her parents' house. At the age of 14 Irina entered Art School where she got a good classical education. During this time she was inspired by sculpture and started seriously working with clay. Her sculptures were exhibited through art shows and galleries in Soviet Union. Irina Kirienko Milton immigrated to the United States in 1998 to meet and eventually marry Jim Milton.
'In my work I have been focused on three main elements: design, light, and color', Irina says. 'Light, dark, and value of the color inspired me more than anything. I want to share with everybody how beautiful everything is that God has done. I want to capture the complexities of reflection, light, value, tone, and shade, and I hope that might trigger an emotion in someone else.'
In the last four years Irina Kirienko Milton was qualified as a signature member of National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society. She is a member of Women Painters of Washington, Women Painters of the West, Plein Air Painters of Washington, and Oil Painters of America; her works were accepted in some of the best competitions in the country and have won numerous awards. Irina's works have been presented in galleries in California, Missouri, Texas, and Washington. She also has been teaching art classes in Everett Community College and private workshops.
