Pam Mummy
Seattle WA
Pam is a figurative artist specializing in one of a kind, ceramic sculptures and sculpted vases. Her pieces are individually created from water-based clay, fired, glazed and then re-fired to create every individual piece. Her pieces will often include a white crackle glaze that is rubbed with India ink after the final firing to create more depth.
She studied ceramics under Jerry Rothman at Cal State University Fullterton in California and received her art degree from san Diego State University. She initially worked as a portrait artist and as a graphic artist, but has since found the third dimension and expresses her art in clay. Her years spent as a portrait artist allow her to create a unique style with her sculpted pieces. She was fortunate enough to study recently under renowned sculpture artist, Philippe Faraut.
She has exhibited in several shows in California and Washington, including a one-person show titled "Life and Fantasy" at Stanford University. Her sculptures have been accepted at the Edmonds Art Festival and the Mukilteo Lighthouse Featival, where she has received first place awards in sculpting for the past two years. |
