| Dorian Tremaine Seattle WA I feel fortunate to have been born in Seattle, and to have grow up there. In my formative years in the 60's and 70's I began to love all things that were used by others in the past. Whether it was old clothing or utensils with wood handles, furniture you name it. If something shows the wear of hands and age I am drawn to it. Early travels in Italy and Greece opened my eyes and mind to great art and antiquity. My experiences and training at Cornish College of the Arts, helped me realize the art potential in everything. By the time I graduated I had begun to experiment with incorporating the images of antiquity in different materials to express my personal appreciation for both. I hope to amuse and challenge the viewer with the contradiction of materials and image. I have exhibited in shows locally including Arts Edge, Bumbershoot and Art Not Terminal's functional art shows. My work is also in several private collections. |
